Last updated: June 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how MrSuitcase (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when merchants install or use Automagic, our A/B-testing app for Shopify.

Automagic helps Shopify merchants create, run, and analyze A/B tests on their storefronts.

1. Information We Collect

When you install or use Automagic, we may collect the following information:

Shopify store information

We may collect information about your Shopify store, including:

  • Shopify shop ID
  • Store email address
  • Store settings relevant to the app
  • Theme, product, collection, page, and asset data needed to run A/B tests
  • Order or checkout-related data needed to measure test performance, such as conversion events, order totals, or attribution data

Merchant and user information

We may collect information about the merchant or users of Automagic, such as:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Account or login details
  • Support messages and communications
  • Billing or subscription status provided through Shopify

Storefront visitor and usage data

To run and measure A/B tests, Automagic may collect technical and behavioral data from storefront visitors, such as:

  • Page views
  • Clicks and interactions
  • Test variant assignment
  • Conversion events
  • Browser type
  • Device type
  • IP address or approximate location
  • Session and usage data

Where possible, we use aggregated or pseudonymous data to measure test performance.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain Automagic
  • Create and display A/B test variants
  • Measure test performance and conversion results
  • Sync relevant data with your Shopify store
  • Provide customer support
  • Improve app functionality and reliability
  • Monitor app performance, security, and errors
  • Communicate with you about your account, support requests, or product updates
  • Comply with legal, contractual, and Shopify platform requirements

We do not use Shopify store data or storefront visitor data for purposes unrelated to providing Automagic, unless you have given us permission or the data has been aggregated or anonymized.

3. Shopify API Data

Automagic connects to your Shopify store through Shopify APIs after you install the app and approve the requested permissions.

Depending on the features you use, Automagic may access Shopify data such as:

  • Themes and theme assets
  • Products and collections
  • Pages or content used in tests
  • Order or conversion-related information
  • Store metadata

Automagic needs access to this data to create, publish, and analyze A/B tests. We only request Shopify permissions that are reasonably necessary for the app’s functionality.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Automagic may use cookies, local storage, scripts, pixels, or similar technologies to:

  • Assign visitors to A/B test variants
  • Remember which variant a visitor has seen
  • Measure test performance
  • Track page views, clicks, and conversions
  • Prevent duplicate or inaccurate test measurement

These technologies are used to provide core A/B-testing functionality. Merchants are responsible for ensuring that their own cookie banner, consent management, and privacy notices properly disclose their use of Automagic where required by applicable law.

5. Sharing of Information

We may share information with:

  • Service providers that help us operate Automagic, such as hosting, analytics, database, infrastructure, support, and error-monitoring providers
  • Shopify, as needed to provide the app and comply with Shopify requirements
  • Legal or regulatory authorities, if required by law
  • A buyer, successor, or other party in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets

We do not sell personal information.

6. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Automagic, maintain business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

If a merchant uninstalls Automagic, we will delete or anonymize personal information associated with the store within a reasonable period, unless we are required to retain it for legal, security, billing, or legitimate business purposes.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

However, no internet-based service is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or stored by Automagic.

8. International Data Transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than the country where you or your customers are located. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.

Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to:

  • Access the information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Request a copy of your information
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

Merchants are responsible for responding to privacy requests from their own customers where required by applicable law. We will reasonably assist merchants with such requests when they relate to data processed by Automagic.

10. Children’s Privacy

Automagic is intended for use by Shopify merchants and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Third-Party Services

Automagic may integrate with or rely on third-party services, including Shopify and infrastructure or analytics providers. These third parties process information according to their own privacy policies and agreements.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites, apps, or services that are not controlled by us.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and may notify you through the app, by email, or by another reasonable method.

Your continued use of Automagic after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you accept the updated policy.
